I do think that victor went to far in his guest for knowledge because he started to play god and when you play god bad things happen to people and you. What victor did was to make like but what he should have done was to learn how to make life last longer because if he had done that then the monster would not have been created and then two people would not have died and his family would be much happier. Victor was wrong in every thing that he did because he was not ethical and because of that bad thing have come up and he has been playing god. Victor has become to smart for his own good so now the world is worse of then it was before even thought victor that that he was doing the world good. People can become to smart when they start to play god because we are not meant to play god and when we do bad things happen to people and the world most of the time but there can be some good thing that can come from it but they will be out wade by the bad thing.

Robert walton meets the stranger

The two men that we meet in the letters are vary similar and vary different. Robert is starting his quest to find the North Pole and is still on the high of being on the brink of the map. The stranger on the other hand is in a vary different state he has no been trying to find and do something for some time and has not yet completed the task. The stranger has been beaten up by the task and has pushed him to become something and do things that he never wanted to do in many ways it has made the stranger mad. Though there is this difference in where they are at in their quest to make new discoveries and advance the world (though the stranger feels that he has now done something bad) they are vary similar in that they are both men of science and are on quests but they also have been with out a friend for a long time and are craving that human contact that comes with a friend. They are both similar in that they have also had to work hard and to but every thing that they have on hold in order to do their task and to go on there quest. The men are not that different but they are at different points in their quest.

Winston gets tortured

When Winston is getting tortured you get to see some parts of Winston that we have not seen before. It is because he has changed. When you get tortured you will never be the same. It is just impossible to think the same and act the same. What they are doing to Winston is bending and stretching his back until it will almost snap. They are also using electroshock to kill is brain which will make him stop thinking things. This type of tortured does not leave any physical trail so no one will every be able to tell that Winston has been tortured it also changes you is such a way that you will do any thing but because of what they are doing you will only do what is true. This is because they can tell when you lie and to lie would be worse. What they do is find your fear and use that to get all the information that they need and then they use it to make you love the party before they do what they where going to do all along and that is to kill you.

the book

The thought that Goldstein talks about in the book are in many ways the truth behind the party slogans. It goes through and explains why the party does what it does but does not tell you why because there is no why, but to stay in power and to control people. In the book it talk about the need to stop the party but gives no way of how to do so because there is no way to stop the party. Also this shows that there is no hope for the prole because they are to be left in the dark and to be kept down except for when the party wants them to raise up. Also I do not remember if it here or if it is latter but they talk about how the upper class will always be in power because having iner-party parents does not mean that you will be in the iner-party this means that there is always a new group that is in power but it is also the same group. This means that there is no way to take down the party because the party is all ways new and is always working to stay in power.

a dream

Winston has had many dreams in the book that turn out to mean a lot to Winston. But the dream that he has in this part of the book is of something that has already happened. His dream is of his mother and sister and is about the last time he saw them. It takes place at the home when he was a child. They had gotten some chocolate and Winston wanted to have more then his ration of it so his mother gives him her part of the chocolate but that does not satisfy him so he steals his sister’s part of the chocolate. It is what Winston’s mother does that Orwell wants you to see and get. Winston’s mother takes the baby and hugs it and gives it some love because even though the chocolate is gone and there is nothing left you still will give love. This is the only case of actual love that Winston has ever seen and it was also the last time he saw either of them. He realizes what he did and feels bad about it because he feels that it was him that killed them and that he would like to go back and make things different. This is also may be why he loves Julia to make up for what he lost hen they took his mother and it may also be a way to fight the party to make up for what he did to his family.

no one wins but the party

Winston knows that no one fights the party and wins. And that sooner and latter every one gets caught and is ether killed or made to love the party. To fight the party is a lost cause because the party is everywhere in your life even when you think that you might be free. To Winston it is not a madder of if they will get caught but of when they will get caught. Then next question for Winston is of when they do get caught what will the party do to them. To both of them they do not want to be apart and they say they will stay faithful in their love to one another when they are found but they know the party changes every one and will make you do anything. So to them it is to enjoy the time that they have before they are fond and at that point they may never see each other again. It is a fight that they have to take because if they do not then they will be caught all the same for face crime of something like it so if you are going to get caught why not fight.

the different people

The one thing that makes Winston and Julia have different worldviews is there age. For Winston who is older he can remember a time before the party and has seen the party fully develop. To him the party lies are more evident also he sees problems and lies even if they have no affect on himself. Julia on the other hand has not seen life with out the party so she sees things a little differently then Winston. To her the party has always been there and will always be there because nothing that you do will hurt the party because all that they will do is kill you. Also Julia does have any feeling for the lies that affect other people but not her. To her what is will always be but to Winston things can and need to change. This is the fundamental difference that will come between there want to bring down the party later in the book.

Winston and his dislike for the world

Winston is at a point in the book where he does not like the world, he does not like where it is or for where it is going. To him the worlds use of goodness and purity is a lie and that in truth no one has any of those things. But because the party will not let people think other then that there is no hope for the world and that is the point that Winston is coming to. Also it is that the world has no truth and that the party is always lying to make themselves look good. I think that this does relate to what john says to Mond in the end of brave new world because in the brave new world world things are somewhat different but people are still controlled and think what the part wants them to think. But to john who does understand being told what to think so for him the people in the new world have no good or purity he in this case is the same as Winston he does not like the world that he is in and can not do any thing to stop the government and to free people.

Back to the future

The one that controls history is the one that has power. This can be seen in the real world just look at the history books written after wars and think if the other sides had won how would history be written. Also look at the way time is set up it is by the people that had power over the most people. As for the world of 1984 history is just a word because history has been destroyed and replaced with what makes the party look good and right. This makes people think that the party is always right so don’t question what they are doing. It also makes the party have control on the people because it gives them the ability eliminate people from record make others look bad. This means that they can change any thing about the world with out any one saying a word. This is bad for the people of the world because it means that there is no way to know what is right and what is wrong meaning that they have to trust the party. It is also means that the party has the power to do what they like even if it is different form what they have said in the past because what they did will be changed

who needs to know how to write

The use of writing in this world is getting pushed to the point of nonexistence. Also the need to write has been lost and the use of extra words is being eliminated by the newspeek that is simplifying the language to a point that you will not need to know words. Also the party does not what any written record so they ban writing unless it is not what they produce and have control over and can change to make the party look good. They are still better then Brave New world because in 1984 they still have some of the classic works but they have been edited to fit in with the party. As long as the party is in power the use of words will be limited and starting to be lost because every generation that goes with out it is more knowledge lost in the unwritten history of this world. But if you look at in a good way people still know how to read and the party still uses words and writing this is seen in the work that Winston does for the party. Now he does this to change the words to fit the party and to make it look like the party is always right but it is still the use of writing is being used and that means that there are some people that need to know how to write.

the world of 1984

In 1984 the world is much different then the one that we have now. It this new world there is not history meaning that thinks can change with out the people knowing what has happened because they can not look back to see if they are right. Also you are never alone you are always being watched by who you do not know but they are there. This means that you have nothing to your self but what is in side you mind. But if you think in the wrong way and it shows then you will be killed by the police for thought crime. Also every thing is vary much like Stalin Russian communism where every one is in theory equal but in reality the top has all the power and all the goods and the lower class gets all that is left which is not much. There is also this idea that the world it always at war what this does is to help create the basic foundation of the government. By always being at war there is a sense of national pride in victories and it also helps to stimulate the economy by the need to keep producing weapons and the need for rations because “more” needs to go to the “front line” but whether or not it does is a question that only the top can answer.

society is bad

I think that this society is bad. There are a lot of things that are wrong with this world but the people in it can not see what is wrong because they have been tolled to think that. It is the conditioning and soma that make people happy not life. If people think that they are happy then they will be happy and when you have a drug like soma to take care of all your problems it is what take you away from any thing that is wrong with your life it helps to create happiness. From the fist day in this world you are tolled to be happy and that not being happy is a threat agent everyone. There is also the system that is set up in this world to not feel pain they are given any thing that they would every need. Also they have nothing in their life to be sad about but the world is still bad. The world is bad because there is not point to life they have people that do the same task over just to make life have as few problems as possible but in doing the kill the part of us that makes us human. We want to do thing and explore and this world tells you what to do and how to do it and when to do it. That is what makes this world so bad there is no reason to live.

a not so brave not so new world

There are a lot of things that brave new world talks about that are true today. We have some of the technologies that they have and we have some of the thought that thy have. Though not every one has all the technologies yet we are close or it is out there for people. The idea of having a helicopter to go places is available though it has not replaced the car. The idea of a feely is some what like doing a motion simulator. The games that they play that require more things to buy can be seen in videogames you always have to keep buying attachments or upgrades. Soma is also some what like the pills that we can take to control behavior and depression. The idea of babies being born in a bottle can be done. There is also the way that we think though not as extreme as the in the book. Take the idea of sex in the book you are to do it with as many people and as often as you can and if you are not getting any you can chew sex gum to give you the sensation of it. In are world people do some what of the same thing though not the extreme that the book does it. Also the idea of the reservation is not that out there people go to third world countries to see how people live and what it is like not to have things the only difference from us and the book is we do not restrict the people that can go there.
