One reason that is important that this is true and not fiction is that it shows you the actual life of a slave because it is also unedited it is not watered down or beefed up its a accurate description of a life of a slave. It makes the reader feel in all sat as a human could be treated that way and that people actually believed that other people or property and that they are better than others.
