the new asylum
The new asylum that Esther goes to is like country clubs for people to live at that need help mentally. The new asylum has a golf course and lots of land to go out and walk it also offers a chance for people to go out to town, see movies and go shopping. This is vary different from the state hospital that Esther was at. At the last asylum she was up in a big wing with other mentally ill people. The last asylum is also in a hospital in the city that does not allow for people to go out. If Esther was forced to stay at this asylum she might have vary well-gone crazy. Esther was not given a chance to get better at the city hospital because she was lock up and not given the chance to get out and to feel better. At the new asylum Esther is getting treated and getting the chance to get better at the same time.

I agree a lot with how you describe the asylum that esther is in. It is a lot like a country club and she is way better off for being there than at one of the state hospitals where they would have just locked her away with all the other mentally ill people. The trouble with most asylums at that time and before that, was that they were primarily for keeping mentally ill people away from society rather than treating them. They were often treated very badly as tho they were dangerous rabid animals. So rather than letting them out and trying to help treat them for the most part they just locked them away and they just got worse. So I agree that Esther is much better off at this new asylum.
Good blog. Esther is much better now that she is at the new asylum. Esther is being treated nicely by the psychiatrists and is starting to open up. I doubt that Esther would start to build up relationships with people at the old hospital. So I agree with you, she is getting treated well and progress is being made.
